Communism really was about everyone sharing things equally. Like um. lets see, health care for instance. Instead of only the rich being able to get any. Also as I noted from the TV news snippets seen here, that the crowds of Republican red-necks protesting vehemently on the streets were all white. What they were really protesting about was the thought of all the lazy out of work blacks getting free health care paid for out of their taxes, when it was "the unemployed blackman sitting on a crumbling porch somewhere in Alabama in his string vest" taking up sub-prime mortgages that helped cause the crash and some of those red necks to lose their homes :) as we were told by Bird and Fortune presciently (extremely so) 3 odd years ago. :banana www.youtube.com	Terry Porritt (14)

870356	2010-03-28 05:31:00	I don't get it Joe, judging from your posts here you have had a fair number of on-going health problems, won't you benefit greatly from socialized health care? Financially surely you would be better off or does your time in the armed forces cover that? You should think of all the poor people in America of which, to the on-going shame of the richest nation on Earth, there are plenty who have no way of getting health care; the Obama initiative will be a great boon to them, surely that is the Xtian way? I get free medical for life from my stint in the US Navy, and they cover everything . As it is, I won't have any troubles getting the Federal Health Care program either as I don't have any taxable income at all . I live on my Social Security Disability Insurance that I paid into for all my working years - even the time in the navy . The gv't is making enrollment into the Fed plan a non-optional program and if you don't enroll, then you are fined and your bank accounts or whatever income you have will be levied . There was gonna be an opt-out for private insurance if you decided to buy into it, but that was killed in the Senate . My wife also qualifies for free medical under the new plan too - so it will affect us positively . I am only reporting the ground swell activities and the things that I see as I make no personal advocacy for any program, governmental or private . The mist disgusting thing is the grab-all that this current administration had created . They grabbed the lending institutions when they went belly up - and most people who still talk about it also say that they should have been left to founder and die on their own with no intervention from the gv't . They grabbed the auto makers and now the cars are all under a gv't manifesto that also feeds the unions and makes them stronger than ever . All along the feds have pretty much destroyed everything they manage or own . I cite: The US Post office . Internal Revenue . The telephone system when they dismembered it and it is now a monopoly . Well - here, let me c/p another site for you: (these are not my words but are generally the thoughts of the trench-dwellers ::: Check out these factoids! The U . S . Post Service was established in 1775 . You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke . Social Security was established in 1935 . You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke . Fannie Mae was established in 1938 . You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke . War on Poverty started in 1964 . You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money isconfiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more . Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 . You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke . Freddie Mac was established in 1970 . You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke . The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil . It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before . You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure . You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM?? MY opinion? Notice that the initiation of this new plan takes place a few months after the NEXT election . This is Obama's way of insuring that he will get the popular vote by giving amnesty to all the illegal aliens and letting them have free medical and citizenship . These are the most powerful lobby and voting public that he can muster, and since they outnumber the real citizens here in California by many percentage points, he wins California . Not to mention many if not most of the other states where they will be allowed their "rights" as illegal aliens . Notice the oxymoron there? The real citizens here don't want Obama in office any longer that this election term . They want him OUT as they see the big sell-out now and they are all talking about the disgust and shame they have since they got fooled . Me? I just watch and report these things . 870358	2010-03-28 06:13:00	First, let me make it clear I am not knocking Joe - he is entitled to his opinions and I respect this. However, the US had had over 200 years to become a true democracy and has failed. It has: 1. A bicameral federal legislative system in which, effectively, only two parties are permitted thus disenfranchising those people who do not support either one. 2. An upper house (Senate) with two members per state- what is democratic about Rhode Island and California having equal representation? 3. States being able to opt out of a lot of federal legislation, and to burden their residents with laws that would be rejected by the majority of US citizens. 4. Elections for a President where the candidate with a majority of votes from across the nation can be declared the loser. 5. A system where favoured people (mainly Republican voters) can obtain obscenely excessive incomes and pay little tax, while people born on the wrong side of the tracks have no jobs, little income, no health care and no prospects of improvement. Much as our system in NZ has its faults, I am sure that I'm living in the better country of the two.	rodb (1561)

870360	2010-03-28 06:37:00	First, let me make it clear I am not knocking Joe - he is entitled to his opinions and I respect this . I don't even think that is a knock . Far from it . I just toss these posts around for other people to get an insight as to what the US thinks about some things . I only live here as an accident of birth . I could have easily been born in NZ somewhere - gads, I hope it would be a warm place though . Mostly I am not expressing my opinions, but I also believe that I read and perhaps post things that meet my sparkling object appeal . I dislike governments .
