1145508 2010-10-17 01:01:00 I kocked over my Philips LCD monitor, and it's just giving me this No video input mesage on the screen.

I kinda doubt it's worth getting repaired, but because I can't afford another one at the moment I was wondering if there's anything I can try?

Its attached to my old P4 desktop. Of course i checked all cabling.

Thx

1145510 2010-10-17 01:06:00 Does you monitor have more than one input? e.g. DVI and D-Sub? have you accidentally switched input? or could you try the other input with the appropriate cable/adapter? Deimos (5715)

1145512 2010-10-17 01:38:00 can you try another machine on it? if not, now this sounds really weird, try un plugging power and hold power down for 15 secs, then plug back in and try. somehow worked for one of our MT displays. don't know what it did but it worked The Error Guy (14052)
1145513 2010-11-05 00:40:00 I finally got round to trying to run this machine again.

Thanks for the tips.

I don't have another machine to try the monitor on.

What the heck is the "power down?

I'm reluctant to spend anything on getting a new monitor because the system is quite old and don't expect to get much for it... P43000 - two hard drives - 120 gig and an 80 gig Seagate.

All I want to do is get it running so I can transfer some files to my notebook.

To "hold power down" you exert pressure with your finger on the power button for the suggested duration.

Thx. I knew that... a few years ago! Just shows how a bit of age can disable your memory!

1145516 2010-11-05 02:13:00 I don't like your chances. I have a Phillips monitor here and tried holding PWR down for 15 secs. Plugged in power lead again. Power light flashes 4 - 5 times then goes off again.

I had already bought a new monitor so no biggy for me.

I'm not getting as far as no video input even though I removed the Video cable.
