| 873472 | 2010-04-06 05:42:00 | Hi all, Have just recently purchased myself a 1997 Honda Accord (It arrives in a few days) and it's got a mapping / GPS system built in. Problem is right now it's all in an asian language and doesn't have NZ maps. I've contacted Honda but they've not yet responded, I'm just wondering if anybody has any experience with flashing them and upgrading them to NZ maps / language? Is it even possible? Any thoughts / comments appreciated :) Cheers Chill. |

| 873475 | 2010-04-06 06:20:00 | We had a Honda Odyssey that just drove around the Pacific ocean, according to the GPS. I'm fairly sure it's maps were on a CD, but I couldn't find a NZ CD on google :(. Good luck with yours Chill . |

This is of course, depending how well integrated into the dash the thing is. If its well integrated, chances are you can find an NZ new equivalent centre console and replace it with that lacking the GPS, but actually useable and will pick up NZ radio stations. From memory they are not very integrated in the Accords until the CL7/CL9 era. |

Just that I am yanking (present pluperfect verb form of the act of pulling, not the noun: "Yank") yer chain there Chill! Don't ban me. |

| 873478 | 2010-04-06 06:43:00 | Thanks for that guys. Yeah basically it just looked like we were driving around on a blue-ish background, same as what --Wolf-- said in the other thread. I liked the idea of having the GPS built into the head unit rather than my iPhone, would prefer not to have to fork out the big bucks to get it working, but oh well. Any recommended head-decks then? :D |

| 873481 | 2010-04-06 08:16:00 | $0, just bought the car, however it's going to be used partly for work purposes so I'm sure I can justify building in the GPS as I travel a fair bit ... once this next big job comes through :) I'm all ears for suggestions though :) |
