Most belong to shooting clubs

872237 2010-04-06 23:05:00 what a load of paranoid crap.

what hacks me off is people are scared shitless of "guns" but generally don't give a dam about killing people with cars. this is how retarded society is, ignore the big risk factors but hype up the low risk factors.
if your going to get killed its more likely to be at the hands of some idiot motorist or at the hands of someone with a kitchen knife.

one gun for every 4 people is fairly low. even i have 6 at the moment. neighbor has at least a dozen and they have only gotten farm use. each one has its own use. just about every farm used to have a 22, a 303 and a shotgun. its unethical and illegal to use just the one gun on everything. its dangerous to go shooting possums with a 303, not allowed to shoot ducks with a rifle, can't shoot a deer @ 200m with a shotgun.

it doesn't matter how many you have, you can only use one at a time.

there will always be guns, get used to it.

Thank christ there are realists like you still out there, gun haters have me bashing my head against a wall.

872238 2010-04-07 05:24:00 It's been said, but most gun owners will usually have at least three guns; a low-caliber (.22), a shotgun (12ga) and a higher-caliber rifle (.270, .303, etc).

Does that number of guns include air guns (and I mean proper rifles)? Because any moron over 18 can own them, or 16 if you have your licence. What about those pissy CO2 pistols?

thats a good question. especially as airguns are very popular. i remember talking to one ammo importer and he sells more in air gun pellets than all other ammo.
also co2 pistols are air rifles, as are all those soft air guns. just the soft air guns alone would skew the figures big time.

872240 2010-04-07 05:48:00 I think the prob is the very fast speed of the air gun pellet now. The pellets have proved to be fatal, like when that cop got pinged trying to interfere with someones car. prefect (6291)
872241 2010-04-07 05:51:00 Proper air riles can pack a punch nowadays (1250 fps isn't uncommon for .177's, nearly the same speed as sub-sonic .22 rounds), but they're normally around the 750-900 fps range. Still enough to kill, no less.

Air pistols, on the other hand, are lucky if they can hit 400.

Saying women dont want guns is sexist and untrue.
Just remember one thing molenaar and his partner were druggies, user and dealers. Say no more dont blame guns guns dont kill people people kill people.

One is never enough, the most I had at one time was 8. Sadly they have all gone and my license has expired:crying
