From the little I know about you I gather your very independant and a great mum. Being a guy Id rather the tv, which ive got. Dont need an oven, I rent and even if I didnt the oven at burger king works pretty bloody well :D Guys are generally pretty sexist but as far as I know most of it is just fun. I work dam hard for my money, and to keep food on my table......... i have 6 tv's in my house.........and 3 of us live here.....lol admittedly they not top of the range, but they just fine......... Women should be banned from the kitchen. I cook a damn lot better than any of previous partners. 6 TV's???? I don't even own one! I gave mine away to a needy home recently. So when I want to watch a programme I go upstairs to watch up there.	Greg (193)

But when a guy (or a gal) is speaking about what appears to be a fantastic deal about a tv, they would see no comparison between a tv and a stove. Possibly missing your point about the financial side and which is more necessary. After all, don't meals and baking just prepare themselves? :rolleyes: :D Greg, if ever you are around my way, just tell me what you'd like to cook and I will make sure I have all the ingredients ready. 872793	2010-04-04 21:43:00	i guess it comes down to i didnt like him.:p which for me is unusual i take each person as they come mostly........... I'm with Pctek here. If you mentioned you bought a woodchipper because you needed to keep your family warm in winter instead of buying a new TV, then you would have received the same response. If you take a dislike to a person, then you can end up reading more negatively into their comments and taking it personally than what was actually meant. I think you will find these days many of the new generation guys don't have the attitude that only females should cook. I know many guys who love cooking and women who are only mediocre cooks. It is a long standing joke/wind-up to say a woman belongs in the kitchen and it often said just to get a reaction. It is no different to us women going on about how men can't multi-task. We do it for the bite. You are doing well so be proud of this, but try to look at life as a glass half-full and not half-empty all the time. :) PS* you paid $2000 for a stove?!	Jen (38)

Everybody can cook (not commercial chefs, of course), it's whether or not you want to do it! How good your cooking is another matter. I cook because I have to (for personal reasons which I don't wish to be discussed here). Surely it's not because I like cooking, I would love to be like you sitting in front of the telly waiting for the dinner to be served. But I'm not so lucky as some of you here. 872798	2010-04-04 22:41:00	Ok . . . . . . . . . . . . yes i have 6 tv's, and i have only bought 2 of them . . . . . . . they range in sizes from 14 inch to 32 inch . its not something i intended, but people seem to give me electrical items they no longer want cos i am a needy single mum? sigh . i did say yes i dont like this guy, but that did not have anything to do with what he said to me, its what he said about his wife, and how he ridiculled her in front of the other males at the bbq . . . . . . . . . . . i didnt change my attitude at speaking with him i never said anything, and i certainly didnt bite to his women in kitchen jibes, i was sad that he had to do this, as she is really nice . i cook cos i have too, i hate cooking . . . . . . . i do find yes i am fiercly independant . . . . . . and sometimes that is a bad thing, but i still get odd looks when i talk about i want a skill saw or a drop saw as my next birthday present . i got the battery drill i wanted, and i have a aluminium ladder, assorted tools and i fixed my fence, i astonish my work mates with what i do, and i think i scare other males when i say i want or did this . . . . . . . . . . . my real friends take no notice and just support me and help where they can, they know me, and what my life has entailed to get here . . . . . . . . its sad when i see people, (not just males) who think they are better than others, who name drop, who make jokes at others expense, and talk about what they own or are getting to make them sound better . . . . but i guess life is like that, i dont treat people different and just cos i didnt like him didnt mean i changed, oh yeah and the stove . . . . . . . . . its a westinghouse ceramic top one . . . . . . . . it was in my budget range . . . and it was the cheapest i could find that had a ceramic top, i dont like those metal ring ones, and i couldnt afford to put gas in the kitchen so i went with what i liked . :) beetle	beetle (243)
