So he was walking his dog(s) while carrying 10 rifles and 6 pistols and a revolver? Damn, even John Rambo ain't carry that much ****... Maybe Schwarzenegger in Commando... |

I read an article in the Herald the other day, that describes how the policemen three of them got ready and turned up to his house and what happened when they were inside there. I don't been to be unkind, but it seemed to me that they were a bit unprofessional. Eg none of them had a weapon handy. They did not follow him in his house (so he was able to get his weapon, they were not wearing their protective jackets. And they left the dog in the van ! Yet they had done "lots: of this type of search ! |

Wonders how many Kiwis had a firearms licence in 1939 when they went to be cannon fodder? |

None, The guns were registered not the people. We had a sort of right to bear arms as long as the serial number was registered with the federales. The reason for registering was more the govt wanting to know how many 303s were around so they could take them for defence of nz. Amazing how this basic human right got stripped away from us. |

| 872232 | 2010-04-06 19:07:00 | There's one gun for every 4 people in this country. I find that figure frightening. A million guns! Is there any reason 250,000 guns are needed in Auckland? Naturally they're not all there, being higher numbers in rural areas where pest control and hunting is more common [and South Auckland where they hunt each other] . But given that half the country are women, who generally don't want to use a gun, and of the half that remains (2 million), half of that number is either children or seniors, then we have 1 million males (city and rural) of an age where they might have a purpose for a gun. But do we need a gun for every single one of those males, regardless of their location and occupation? Naturally, most of us don't have guns - so why do those that do have guns want to own so many? |

Women don't use guns? Seriously? Because you can't take down a deer with a .22. You don't really want to fire a 30-06 at a rabbit, rifles are no good for getting ducks etc, so you need a shotgun... So there you go... Now, I would also like to know how many of said 1 million guns in NZ are actually operational, seeing as Class C means guns aren't operational... Enthusiests have pistols, and you gotta be a member of a pistol club yada yada yada, to own one. If you are going to go to all the touble to be able to get a pistol in the first place, why not 2 or 3 or 4? (12 pistols are allowed) I would have a few weapons too, but I could sign a the form stating that I would never use firearms in self defence... |

I have 12 :), my neigb has a walk in gun room with buku guns. Saying women dont want guns is sexist and untrue. Just remember one thing molenaar and his partner were druggies, user and dealers. Say no more dont blame guns guns dont kill people people kill people. |
