1145438 2010-10-16 21:25:00 Has anyone ever seen, or know the correct name of The black USB hubs (i.technet.microsoft.com) as per that picture.

Must connect to the PC Via USB and have USB or PS2 ports & a Monitor Attachment.

Edited: Microsoft call them Multifunction Hubs, but I cant locate them under that name

:help:

1145440 2010-10-16 22:07:00 Going by the Picture that MS Supply, they should be. Must be at least USB2 ( thats why I want to get one to try it out before offering it to a customer)

Its to do with the Multipoint Server (www.microsoft.com) setup. 1 server ( with enough grunt) can be used as 11 workstations.

From their Spec sheet
a single MultiPoint Server can support up to eleven stations. So you need to be able to connect 11 monitors.

Connecting 4 (blog.seattlepi.com) would be easy

You can easily put in 2 PCI-E cards, but that only gives out 4 video outlets.

To obtain 11 you would need to install 6 video cards.

1145441 2010-10-16 22:21:00 I did advanced searches and this site pulls up which mentions Tritton working with Microsoft multipoint servers at everything usb (www.everythingusb.com). It's a large site - scroll down a little has images and diagram similar to your one. Then at the tritton web site there's a press release... (www.trittonusa.com) kahawai chaser (3545)

1145443 2010-10-16 22:44:00 Hey - thanks kahawai & SoniKalien , :banana Both those look like they will work.

Now something to have a look at later today.

Just installing the trial of Multipoint server , and I have a spare normal USB hub somewhere around here - and a spare video output on the card, so time to give it a crack as the saying goes.

:thanks
