| 1147047 | 2010-10-23 03:28:00 | I bought a AMD 955 and the CPU fan sounds like a jet engine. I also have an Intel Computer and the CPU fan is whisper quite. The fan may not be compatible with this system (needs a 4-wire fan I think), if not, get one that is. I went into the BOIS and put the fan to 60 which is 60% I guess. It had 40,45,50,55,60 so I put it at 60 and now that jet engine sound is gone and it makes a regular noise. It also looks like my heat sink is a cooling heat sink because it has brass tubing running around it. Thanks |

It is more likely to mean 60 Degrees C, and probably won't turn the fan up faster until the CPU temp reaches 60 (which is not good) You may find using a software control like SpeedFan to be better. |
