1146662 2010-10-20 23:29:00 Hi all
I would like to upload a pdf document to a WP website for the public to view though restrict(refuse) the download and print. I could also convert the pdf to another format it would help.It is 80 pages long.
Is that possible in any way?
Thanks

1146663 2010-10-20 23:34:00 at 80 pages I would think its a good idea to let people download it. You can set print etc restrictions in the security settings when you create the PDF. SoniKalien (792)

Yes I have thought about that. I remember looking book previous on google and thought that way of providing a publication might be an option? Just not sure?
Any idea on that?

1146665 2010-10-21 00:15:00 You could use Flash to display the PDF as an active document. But be aware, that if you let them view it, they can download it / print it if they really want to work out how. It's just a matter of whether they can be bothered with the effort. inphinity (7274)

thanks.
How is this working in google books? Just looking now at a book preview. Surely they can(at least I thought to remember) limit download and printing ? Or am I on the wrong track?

1146667 2010-10-21 00:37:00 I publicly share a few tip/tutorial type pdf's on Google Docs. There is also scibd and ipaper platforms for public sharing of pdf's. But don't know about print options. kahawai chaser (3545)
