875039 2010-04-11 00:41:00 yes, waste of $$$ keeping him in jail. be a fairly safe bet he would be low risk.
maybe the victims family should remember that if the young fella wasn't out offending he wouldn't be dead.

Why worry? Is this just another troll?

Do you just want to fence sit?

For me I don't think he will re offend so parole may be justified in this case.

Why not get yourself elected to the Parole board so you can make a judgement based on the facts presented by herds of public servants?

In spite of all the advice the parole board don't always get it right anyway.

Much like Jury who only get to hear what is admissable perhaps?

875042 2010-04-11 01:19:00 Yes he should be let out and pardoned and compensated prefect (6291)
875043 2010-04-11 01:23:00 Yes, maybe he'll catch a few more taggers. Perhaps not with a knife in hand though. I would suggest a spraycan and spray them from head to toe.

Mace perhaps? Pepper spray? Taser? Baseball bat?

Even shoving a guy so he falls over and hits his brainless head on the pavement could lead to a manslaughter charge.

875046 2010-04-11 02:44:00 Have to agree with Tweak on this one.

If the teenager hadn't been tagging, he would still be alive and no one would have been in jail.

Its not as if he killed someone while robbing a bank at gunpoint.

Of course the *victims* family will want him to rot in jail for as long as possible but in this instance, the home owner whose property was being tagged is just as much a victim.

Ideally he shouldn't have gone after the teen with a knife in his hand but that is in the past now. Nothing is going to be gained in keeping him locked up any longer. And the chances of him killing someone else is probably fairly low when compared to some other release cases there has been in the last couple of years.
