2010-04-10 05:33:00 | Just another reason why I don't always believe initial reports. home.nzcity.co.nz They had that girl listed as driver error but it would appear that it may not have been the case.

2010-04-10 06:46:00 | i find it all laughable. the cars crash all the time, the crash itself is not the problem. more sh*t stirring for publicity stake. | tweak'e (69) | |
2010-04-10 06:54:00 | The cars crash all the time you say. But in this case a person died which is not always the case in a crash. Then it was blamed on driver error. That is my point!

2010-04-10 09:45:00 | point is those cars are built to crash. they smash into those walls very regularly. blaming it on driver error was a load of crap. be interesting to hear what was the real cause of death. my concern is if a young growing body can withstand those impacts without breaking bones etc. that would bring in the question should such young drivers be driving stock cars at all.

2010-04-10 11:27:00 | My point is that the death was blamed on driver error and you apparently agree that was a load of **** so why report it as such in the first place? Young people should have interests such as climbing out of their playpen if they feel so inclined in my view. That does not mean that Adults should not protect the children and do their best in that way. So let's all wait until you get to be 25+ before you get toilet trained maybe. Sarcastic? Yes. But when is the correct age to put a person in a stock car?

2010-04-10 21:39:00 | Well at 15 she was probably driving on the roads which are more dangerous so can't see why she shouldn't have been on the track | gary67 (56) | |
2010-04-10 22:00:00 | You can never tell me stock driving is a safe sport. I am sure if someone has just invented the concept of cars bashing into each other and racing it would be banned. Hardly matters if a pitman arm falls off and stock car slams into wall or if the car is bumped into the wall. I am not saying the sport should be banned the opposite in fact I would love to have a go at it. One of my fav sports is carting after drinking where bashing other people into the sides of the track is the aim. I dont blame the stockcar club either for blaming the driver first so they dont get their ass sued by OSH and the feds. I agree with Gary though probably riskier her driving at night with her 15 yr old mates.

2010-04-10 23:23:00 | "Re: Belief in News Reports" "Belief" - has been around for centuries, and facts haven't had a lot of influence in that arena. "in" is a bit variable in interpretation - an "in" person is not the same as a person who is "in", nor a person who is "in" it. "News" - originally an acronym of North, East, West and South. May imply going all around with no particular direction. Nothing to do with New in the accepted meaning, esp. when applied to TV. "Reports" - a series of loud noises with no explanation offered. A modern requirement of news is that it dovetails neatly between advertisements without distracting from them nor materially altering the reader/viewer's credulity threshold which should have been cleverly manipulated to maximise the effect of the advertisements. It should maintain it's average believability in the revised modern scale of published chaff which is : Tidal forecasts Horoscopes Program schedules Weather forecasts TradeMe descriptions News Business News Car Promotions Statistics Political reports Political forecasts Business Forecasts Interpretations of statistics Political Promises :punk
