| 874845 | 2010-04-11 10:33:00 | It's almost spam from the Toaster Shop guy, but I appreciated his info. My brother and I are considering getting a lower priced unit for the two-room sleepout behind the house. So it's good to hear all comments. The mods don't think so. I reported it. :) |

I reported it. :) I'm not out to get sales from members - that would be nice but not the intention of my post, it was more so to put my 2 cents out there. "Toaster" shops appear to have a bit of a bad rep from what I have read in this thread....I just wanted to clarify the misconception with my company specifically that we no longer just sell pumps any size to anyone walking in, in the past this has been the case however it's obvious this can cause a real problems with the end outcome of efficiency & running costs etc. That goes for Bond & Bond our sister company too. My comments are factual one's based on 2 years of heat pump sales with specialised installers. On a side note my "toaster" shop does do ECCA setups via Righthouse. Interestingly I set my grandmother up with a couple of Fujitsu's done with the ECCA grnt, had it setup for floor unit in the lounge & small wall in her bedroom running of the one outdoor unit, ECCA wouldn't allow this & we had to do a seperate outdoor unit......so much for reducing the global footprint!! Worked out about $80 CHEAPER to have 2 seperate outdoor units so that was ok. I was interested to see this years consumer report pretty much staying the same as last years - wood burner with FREE firewood as the cheapest method with Heat pumps running next in line. I have a wood burner in my house but we get free firewood & we have a nice open plan layout so it works well. Combining a decent method of heating with an HRV/DVS type setup works so well together!!
