1147065 2010-10-23 21:41:00 I found problems with printing labels on my Pixma.

Solved by getting a DVD Writer with Lightscribe.

Saves ink too. :)

Funnily enough - I have a LG GH-22LS50 22X LightScribe Black SATA DVD Writer on my new rig. I haven't investigated the LightScribe side of things yet. ? software needed (do I have to pay for this?), is there freeware available? Which ones are good? I DO know that I would need special discs for this...

1147066 2010-10-23 21:54:00 Smudges can be due to media being too thick - and consequently too close to the print head.

If there is a paper thickness adjustment lever on your printer, try putting it into the 'thick/cardbaord/envelope" area when doing a disc and see if it helps.

Not on this printer - a previous Canon one I have does (Canon S750).

1147068 2010-10-23 22:17:00 Download Lightscribe from here:-

www.lightscribe.com

You can also get templates from the Design area on that page.

The software is free.

1147070 2010-10-23 23:07:00 Remember it'll be B&W only not colour. You still need a program (LS is just the software for it, not the program to add templates). Something like CDburnerXP will let you do this (If you want something free) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1147071 2010-10-23 23:31:00 If you are used to creating multi-coloured CD's - lightscribe will be a real let-down. Scouse (83)
