Its not as if he killed someone while robbing a bank at gunpoint. Of course the *victims* family will want him to rot in jail for as long as possible but in this instance, the home owner whose property was being tagged is just as much a victim. Ideally he shouldn't have gone after the teen with a knife in his hand but that is in the past now. Nothing is going to be gained in keeping him locked up any longer. And the chances of him killing someone else is probably fairly low when compared to some other release cases there has been in the last couple of years. x2 Well adjudicated, PinoyKiwi. We need more people like you. And especially, in the Judiciary :clap |

Not only should he be released, but he should be Knighted for Service to the Community beyond the call of Duty! x2. If I could afford it, I'd buy him a bottle of Highland Park Single Malt 40 year old. |

| 875054 | 2010-04-11 06:01:00 | Look at the emotive half-truths in the "reporting". "Armed with a kitchen knife the father-of-three chased the pair for more than 300m and confronted them. The teenager died within minutes." Confronted them? Really? I thought he carried the knife for protection, they out-ran him, hid in a bush and then rushed at him. Karma - not "murder". |

| 875055 | 2010-04-11 06:54:00 | he shouldn't have turned a defence action into an attack and thats why he got prison. however time served, he can do the rest of the time outside of prison. that opens up a bed for someone who much much worse. | tweak'e (69) | ||
| 875056 | 2010-04-11 07:30:00 | Yes being on parole doesn't mean they are free. There are conditions like reporting to local police station etc one a week or so, so they are still restricted in there movements. Yes I agree with tweak'e and pinoykiw posts. :) |

| 875057 | 2010-04-11 08:29:00 | He should never have gone to prison in the first place . He was just defending his property . No - he was chasing a teenager down the road with a knife because he put some paint on a wall . You guys are really sick if you think that warrants the death penalty for the kid . However, notwithstanding the inadequate sentence the offender got, he should be entitled to the same parole terms as everyone else . |
