2010-10-28 00:59:00 | Hi all. I've got a tarball file, and I need some help extracting it. So far, I've only tried 7zip on it, but that didn't work out too well... Oh yeah, it's 218Gb too. Any ideas? Thanks.

2010-10-28 01:09:00 | No, it's just a regular tarball now. It was originally 'only' 14Gb, because it was also compressed using 7zip.

2010-10-28 01:49:00 | Just using filzip now, it seems to be working. Yes, it's a static HTML dump of wikipedia. I decompressed the file using 7zip to get the tarball out, 7zip only wets it pants at the 218Gb tarball.

2010-10-28 02:25:00 | I'm not sure... all I know is that, originally, it ended with .tar.7z and now it ends with .tar ... I need to brush up on my POSIX...

2010-10-28 02:40:00 | No, that's why I have WinHTTrack installed ;) I'm looking into the possibility of slimming it down to a more managable size and putting it on mobile devices. before anyone starts, yes, I know about the exisiting software out there, wikitaxi, etc. Nothing out there has a 'dump to html' option. Paired with a mobile browser, it could be something. Yes, I am aware that it's 218Gb for a reason...
