| 1147617 | 2010-10-25 21:53:00 | Hi team, My friend's HP Pavilion DV6 notebook has an optical drive issue. There is no optical drive icon when opening the computer icon. The device manager has an exclamtion mark next to the optical drive. I have un-installed and re-installed but still no go. The OS is Win 7 HP 64bit. Doesn't Win 7 take care of the drivers for this optical drive? Is the drive on the way out? The BIOS says that the optical drive is "available"..... |

| 1147618 | 2010-10-25 22:00:00 | Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and delete upperfilter and lowerfilters (one of them may not be there, don't worry about it...) or, if you're in a hurry run this (support.microsoft.com). ;) |
