1147594 2010-10-25 21:35:00 Slingshot Broadband, D-link g604t modem.

Over the last few days I've been getting that exclamation mark over my connection saying "limited connection" and I won't be able to use the internet at all. Usually a reboot of the modem fixes it, but over the last 3 or 4 days I've rebooted the modem probably 20 - 30 times. This is on 2 different computers, 1 wired, 1 wireless, same problem. What's causing it? Could it be the modem or is it Slingshots problem?

Also side note, is there anyway to stop my wireless internet password showing up under properties on the network connection? All you have to do is tick 'show characters' and the password shows up. Kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it.

1147597 2010-10-25 21:52:00 Unfortunately they're crappy modems, it's that time of year again where they start overheating (Spring / Summer):

You could try setting it back to default settings and setting it up again and make sure DHCP is enabled.

That one.

You could try flashing the modem with new firmware (support.dlink.com.au)...

For most home users though, the modem wratterus mentioned is probably best bang-for-buck and quite reliable!

1147602 2010-10-26 00:00:00 Hi I am with Slingshot too and also have had the same problem over the past few days. I rang their helpdesk last night and there was an automated message saying that they were having problems in the South Island of some sort. GavRoars (16046)

Welcome to the forums!.....the issue the OP is having is between his router and his PC, the internet comes from the router, so the issue of Slingshot is not in this problem.
