After some viewing and reading, it is kinda nice and me thinks the Apple thing is v strong even if there are alternatives like that German product . I can say that a lot of phone makers have chosen the large touch screen style b/c of the Apple success . It also makes viewing videos and pictures, GPS, applications a lot easier with a larger screen . Does the iPad have WIFI or IR or Bluetooth? If I was an avg person I prefer a iPad than a Netbook for recreational use or maybe if I was a travelling businessman where I could use a stylus to write notes, do a presentation and little on the typing . |

2010-04-13 01:46:00 | I've ordered two from ebay- One for me and one for ma- She still struggles to use her macbook. The only thing that pushed me to get one was when I saw that Geohot had jailbroken his. I'm not that fussed on any of the iPhone 4.0 OS features, including multitasking, but i'm hoping that I'll be able to replace my laptop with this for everything but work.. First impressions from what I've seen of one (friend bought one back fro the states) are amazing. It's faster than my desktop. It's faster than almost anything i've ever seen. Just tap, bam. tap, bam. Website? URL, bam. Gosh, I can't wait. | baabits (15242) | |

2010-04-13 01:51:00 | Specs (www.apple.com). Looks like there's a rival (www.nzherald.co.nz). Maybe not as big or as good, but it runs Linux. | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

2010-04-13 02:07:00 | What is an average person Nomad? Statistics are absolute rubbish. The average family has 2.3 children maybe for example. May I ask how I would treat the one third of a child any differently to the two whole ones I am supposed to have if I was normal? It was common some years back for parents to have large families. For example my mother was born in 1920 and had nine other siblings and only two are still alive today.

2010-04-13 03:06:00 | I had 20 minutes of "hands on" this morning with an ipad. You really do need to have a play with one to get a real idea of it, all the reviews in the world dont convey just how nice it is. Very impressed, but I wont be getting one :-) It all depends on your needs. In my case I can do all I want on my iphone, and I dont want a bigger device to carry around. But at the same time... the interface in just like the iphone but much faster, it just feels faster and smother. the iphone apps work on it but look a bit ugly due to the up-scaling. the native apps look very nice and use the screen space very well. Watching video and surfing the web is almost better then a desktop experience. The touch interface just works so well with the web. very nice for reading news/ ebook reader. not too heavy to hold for long sessions and very good battery life (10 hours +). keep in mind that this is a media consumption device, not a media creation device. it has a few "office" type applications , but they are very weak. that and the only way to get documents in and out is basically email. no SD card, no UBS connection. This is not a cellphone replacement, and this is only a laptop replacement if all you do is email and watching videos.
