Let's say it is not a v fast plan but adequate at the same time speed is consistent via 2 bands - daytime and night time. Slower in daytime but consistent, off peak time like 12am-6am some what faster but again consistent. Keyword: consistency.

I was surprised that Go Large was $60 when there is a pro plan at $80 for 40GB.

LOL, that's a good question. But I don't think that's possible with adequate speeds now, given if it is all you can eat, people can gobble them up non stop every month ..

Me thinks maybe there maybe isn't much Telecom can do more now.
If you are in a good location to the Telephone Exchange and if the "adequate" speed is 2Mbit/sec, you'll chew up a heck of a lot. Imagine if you schedule downloads 24/7, 52 weeks a year, $100 would be a true bargain.

Fwiw, me thinks maybe 1Mbit/sec at offpeak and maybe 500k/sec at other times.

When I first got Xnet 3yr ago, out lines could only manage 1.8Mbit, but downloading 500MB wasn't a problem, hence me thinks 2Mbit may simply be too generous if you give it consistently.

875884 2010-04-13 00:51:00 @Nomad, really? 1Mbit/s? IMO it should be at least 2.5Mbit/s, hell, on big time I'm normally pulling 4Mbit/s on peak! ubergeek85 (131)

Yes, I thought about 2Mbit but if that was provided "consistently" it would hardly work. People would gobble and gobble. It is a all you can use consistent speed plan - via my assumption case study.

Or else leave it as is now, and you get a diff people with diff results :D

The internet is not consistent anyway. Very much like any network that is not local.

Have a look at PressF1 for example. Mostly it is usable but sometimes not.

875889 2010-04-13 03:29:00 Most people want fast and cheap. For me I want reliable and cheap.

Some people are still on a dialup connection as it suits their needs and it may be slow and cheap but reliable.
