2010-04-15 09:28:00 | I'm doing between 150 and 200 GB a month on it. The only issue I have had is with skype, it is so unreliable on big time, the funny thing is, google chat/video or what ever their call it, is very reliable on big time. Different ports maybe? any suggestions? Id like to see you pull that amount now that the max speed is now 110kb/sec Hah. Telecom's site is down now, giving an empty response. http://www.telecom.co.nz/

2010-04-15 10:10:00 | ok looks like I will not be getting big time, emailed telecom today asking about VPN traffic and was told that ALL traffic is shaped and it would not be a good idea to use it for business | nedkelly (9059) | |
2010-04-15 10:34:00 | Just make sure you use your VPN only between 2AM and 9AM :p | Agent_24 (57) | |

2010-04-15 10:53:00 | Your source??? Attached file: 100kb.jpg (www.imagef1.net.nz) (79 KB) The first picture is of DiffProbe which is used to detect traffic shaping, which normally runs fine, max downstream is about 1mbit, never changes, and it is unable to finish the test due to high packet loss. The second picture is a file from an Australian site which would normally max out my line at about 1mb/sec to 1.5mb/sec, after 5 minutes the avg speed is 30kb/sec. This is a multi threaded download, which would normally be tons faster than a single thread download.

Gonna be ringing Telecom in the AM to gripe about it and get the change reverted, it's *horrible*. Nationally, VPN, is fine. I do RDP constantly and a lot of work through PPTP VPN (It's what I built the KiwiLAN gaming service around), so yeah... I do *lots* with VPN's and never have an issue. I'd know, immediately, if they were messing with it because of all the gaming I do over VPNs. |

2010-04-15 12:04:00 | yeah but this has to be closer to real time than it is currently. She has a workload that she has to get done each day. I really want big time because the next plan has a 20gb cap and I have already done 20gb from the 1st. Might get Big time for a month after my cabinet is done and get her to test it and if it is too much slower than it is currently will just have to get the 20gb plan and stop downloading stuff. :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed: | nedkelly (9059) | |
