Our speed has been all over the place with about 10 minutes ago being 7mbps to california but last night at around 5pm being under 1mbps. We have also had it at times where the speed test is high but it takes for ever to load anything. Because of this I did a ping test and discovered 96% of the packets were lost in transit. Can anyone else on NZnet perform a speed and ping test and see if there values are similar. Thanks. |

| 1148011 | 2011-03-08 00:24:00 | I have recently had random outages ranging from 30mins to 1hr+, i called up tech support, which i can simply put it as horrible and rubbish, last i heard from him was "i will call you back with some updates". 2 days later no calls. I did speedtests and during the day i get speeds of 0.5mb down speed, and 0.2 up. Which is just bloody disgusting i hope they read these forums and truely understand how horrible they treat their clients and the lack of support they have. When i do the speed test now, its under hostingdirect not nznet anymore, something is up and i don't much like it, im about to jump ship and go with Chilling's suggestion of HD. | chuanwai (12518) | ||

We have been getting crap service for months and we have spoken with them heaps and got the same result as you . 5 times we have been told we were being told we would get put on a new line which is much faster to ring a few weeks later and get told nah were not doing it anymore . My father was told that NZnet decreased the amount of bandwidth they get recently so this is probably a major part of the issue being as they got a whole lot of new customers on a lower bandwidth . Also, I have this suspicion that Caprica is hogging the bandwidth as right around the times of overnighters and stuff like that the speed plummets . I will run that test you suggested and see what comes up . Also we have tried multiple routers with the same issues . Unless its something that can be fixed easily and we get some sort of compensation we will probably move to HD with unlimited data because we are really fed up with all the mucking around . Also . My dad is a reseller of computer parts and repairer so its not something stupid we have dont out of stupidity . |
