Something like: Your vehicles registration is out of date and a ticket has been issued, if you can prove within 5 working days this has been solved we will waive the fee or you will be fined. as i have said before, I am insupport of anyone who wants to change the law. and I agree with your point, I recomend you write that in a letter to a goverment offical of some kind. |

| 876635 | 2010-04-16 07:04:00 | some one I know got a ticket while parked outside the post office getting a new rego Ah........Auckland parking wardens are so much more civilised. I went to collect my mail last year and when I came out I was being ticketed for expired reg. I said I'd go straight back in and renew it, so he waited while I did that, then cancelled the ticket. Not like the bugger that pinged me for 2 minutes over while at a funeral. It has been a good week for Billy vs the Law, I got pulled over for speeding and multiple lane changes (I was in a hurry to get something to a large group of people at a public venue, no names, no packdrill) and I explained in short words, got a quick earful, my license back and was sent on my way. I got there 1 minute before stage time!! The only other officer with a heart that I ever met was one who pulled me over that day my wife's mother died. She was a sweetheart so I was somewhat distracted and I was waved on for that one too. The time I really wanted a policeman and couldn't find one was when my wife had major problems one night when she was expecting our son and the hospital said not to wait for an ambulance but to get her there as fast as possible. She was there in 12 minutes (normally a 20 minute drive) and we didn't stop for anything. Fortunately it was very late in the evening with little traffic about but we didn't stop for anything and did 160k+ down the motorway. It all turned out ok but it was a nerve-wracking night. What about "Your vehicles registration is out of date and a ticket has been issued. You've had over two weeks to renew it and have failed to do so. Obviously you can't remember to do things required by law so here is a $200 reminder. We find this works best and people rarely re-offend." |
