1147986 2010-11-24 05:03:00 mmmm... I get 7ms to my gaming server halfway across the country, on Telecom, interleaving off :) Perfect for gaming AND VoIP! :D

Naked DSL? I don't use normal phone, VoIP allows me to keep the same number across the Country, not just neighborhood. I suppose I could sign up for the package but what's the point of having something you never use.

1147987 2010-11-24 06:28:00 Nah but when I was with Orcon it was 12ms, mostly because of *where* my servers are hosted. I've still got my two VoIP lines with 2talk. I did VoIP for a living up until a few months ago, so you're preaching to the converted ;) Chilling_Silence (9)
1147988 2010-11-29 10:11:00 Well, a quick update, issue is still present although thru out the "low traffic" hours from around morning till 4 the net is running smoothly, however after 5pm the speeds are horrific, the lag and spikes are horrendous, constant spikes and massive lag on australia/oversea's based severs.

1147989 2010-11-29 22:33:00 I don't get that issue with Telecom... Agent_24 (57)
1147990 2010-11-30 19:05:00 Sounds like a massive oversubscribing at the ISP end...
This is me, while I'm hammering my home connection with about 9 downloads (Pretty much completely maxing my line speed), uploading via FTP, AND while gaming:

From Auckland on Telecom to Sydney ... not bad?
Or within NZ: www.pingtest.net

Its been happening around 9pm onwards now, the lag is horrible can barely open nz websites, youtube buffers a 3 minute video in 30 minutes. I hope that nznet staff is still reading these forums because they need to sort this issue out, emailed multiple times with no response, pretty horrific customer service. Think im going to have to change to vodafone or something. Since my net has been reset today since its a new month, i have since ruled out the over 50gb causing lag symptom, nznet has really disappointed me.

1147992 2010-12-01 17:43:00 Then again, we kind of knew this would happen.
Here's mine when I'm not absolutely hammering the downloads:

That's how it *ought* to look :D

Time for you to find another ISP?

I believe NZNet have some progress on the issue. Local pings and international pings are decreased by at least 50%. They have admitted they have an issue and LOTS of complains when I called them last time (about a week ago) and told me they're working on it. I asked to keep me up to date with progress but haven't heard since.

AT least my VoIP works fine.

Chilling, interesting to see what your speed and ping tests like to Denver USA or Moscow Russia during high load periods 6-9pm or so.

1147994 2010-12-02 10:55:00 I also get the same to Denver: www.pingtest.net
My throughput is what yours is while my wife is currently downloading some stuff at around 2.8m/bit, it can't be paused, so I'll do it again tomorrow. Basically, it's maxing my line speed of 4.1m/bit :)

1147995 2011-01-20 00:34:00 Hey interesting reading, just wanting to know if there has been any update to the problems mentioned her, i am interested in trying to find something to find a replacement for the old telecom Bigtime usage, i shifted to slingshot, and was on their pro plan, and just bought blocks of data, but i used them up very quickly, and then i shifted over to their all you can eat plan, but the speeds are really bad, so i have just seen NZNET,

here is a link to their plan www.nznet.co.nz (www.nznet.co.nz)

The 100 Gb plan sounds good, and the 200 gb plan would be better for me, but even the unlimited would be great, but i could contain myself to 200 Gb/Month

So just wondering if they have fixed their connections & speed problems?
but anything has gott be better that telecoms old plan and Slingshots "all you can eat" plan
