1147977 2010-11-21 02:57:00 Have signed up with this crowd about 2 months ago. It was going perfectly fine until 2 weeks ago when all the international traffic just died. First my SKYPE would work as the lag was just rediculous, then youtube and bing videos fell down (takes ages to load a crapy resolution video now).

Then I went to measure the results on speedtest and pingtest websites and got the following out of 3 random tests on each website:

www.speedtest.net
www.speedtest.net
www.speedtest.net

www.pingtest.net
www.pingtest.net
www.pingtest.net

Then funny things started happening with traffic counter when it jumped 45Gb in 2 days even though I didn't download anything (that has been adjusted by NZNet back to original trafic used and admitted to be a glitch in the system)

Emailed them about unbelievable speedtest and pingtest results, waiting on the reply.

Have to admit first reply about the traffic was very quick (overnight), bills come monthly on regular basis, they do send reminders at 80% of used traffic to warn you're reaching your limit. Email is answered in timely manner, they do call back quite quick as well if you ring up with enquiry and leave message with your number.

P.S. Tried 2 different ADSL modems, 3 different PCs and one stand alone SKYPE phone to make sure the problem is not hardware related on my side.

My quotation was the same as one from the post above. It also included clause that they do not guarantee VoIP quality...
Hi
Im the OP of this thread, and i have to say i am experiencing the same issues, they had a huge dsl cut out a few days ago called in no one answered all phone lines were busy. I am experiencing the issue as well the lag is horrid, i can barely manage to use skype and teamspeak. The nz severs are fine but when you get to australian or usa severs the lag is so horrible it cripples you to the extent where you can't even hear anything nor play that game.My ping would usually be around 85 or so on a aus sever, atm i am at around 700 and spiking to the point that the game just freezes. This has also happened after i passed the 40gb meter, i am going to call it in on monday and see how where i get from there, will report back once i get an answer or a solution *bracing myself*.

Well, if it doesn't get solved, i guess you could say we took one for the team.

Spoke too early of prompt support as still have no reply. I understand, of course, that it is MONDAY :badpc: and good people at NZNET don't want to work, as we all are. So we'll give em couple more days (I flicked through few more e-mails). Than I suppose start looking for someone else, however I don't believe there is anyone in NZ who can provide reasonable priced trouble free service when it comes to BROADBAND  either crappy service or rip off prices.

Cheer-e-o

1147983 2010-11-22 20:06:00 Telecom are offering double-your-data specials all the time. Vodafone let you double your data for another $10-$30 depending on your plan too. Chilling_Silence (9)

The problem is that no provider is offering naked DSL with large data caps, or if they do they charge outrageous amount of money. The option is to sign up with NZNet for digital phone... that might help my VoIP issues, but will definetly not cure games.

1147985 2010-11-23 08:35:00 mmmm... I get 7ms to my gaming server halfway across the country, on Telecom, interleaving off :) Perfect for gaming AND VoIP! :D Chilling_Silence (9)
