876111 2010-04-14 00:20:00 These are full 2 hour DVD’s with up to 30 chapters in each. I don’t want to simply store them as avi or whatever format – would like to be able to use a PC as a base for a super type DVD player and then be able to easily go to any DVD and then any chapter. Ideally then to have an IR remote and HDMI them to a TV.
It sounds as though may be ahead of what is available?!!

876112 2010-04-14 02:50:00 I don't - just have about 150 in a drawer with paper envelopes (no daft plastic boxes) in alphabetical order - no problem at all. And no way of loosing them if the HD goes down.
Oh but I do have a database of the contents.

876113 2010-04-14 02:54:00 As suggested, ISO's and Daemon Tools, A120%, or any other image mounting application. Or just copy the DVD contents to a folder and then Open Disc > point it to the folder for the DVD you want to play. inphinity (7274)

A friend just bought one of these......it plays
.VOB, .IFO or .ISO DVD files as well as a heap more.
One advantage over the likes of the WDlive is that you can
fit a standard sata drive in it.
