Not gonna debate with you.

875942 2010-04-13 04:44:00 I believe Safari has his name down.

I both don't have one and don't want one.

I still say they will be a flop,in say, comparison with the ipod or iphone.

But time will tell.

875943 2010-04-14 09:38:00 I am getting the WiFi 3G 32GB iPad c/o my son's trip to the US Mid May.
Great sofa computer in addition to my 15" MacBook pro for heavy lifting.
Can't wait :)

875944 2010-04-15 01:26:00 No way.

The only thing I would get would be a Netbook, if I wanted some portable thing. Reasons?

1) Cheaper most likely
2) Not some proprietary Apple hardware, better chance of running Linux
3) Screen folds down (good for protection)
4) Actual physical keyboard
5) Standard USB ports
6) Many others I'm probably forgetting

875945 2010-04-15 01:37:00 I'm not as I have no need for a portable do everything device.

And before anyone asks I don't have a cellphone.

875946 2010-04-15 02:37:00 But the iPad isn't a do-everything device anyway, it only does what Apple wants to let you do. Agent_24 (57)

Which is why it will not be a world sensation,it can't be if Sweep isn't cotemplating!

875948 2010-04-15 08:56:00 Specs (www.apple.com). Looks like there's a rival (www.nzherald.co.nz). Maybe not as big or as good, but it runs Linux.

The rival can be prepared to have the S*%T sued out of them... Apple threatened legal action against palm

the iPad covers almost all of those in different ways than stated...

875950 2010-04-15 09:04:00 Cheaper? it will be an iRipoff
Linux might run on iPad but I'm sure it runs on standard netbooks far easier
How does the iPad protect its screen? Do you have to carry around a special cover for it?
Sure you could plug or wirelessly connect a keyboard to an iPad, but try balancing both of those on your lap or holding them both in one hand at the same time....
I hear it has USB ports by way of an adaptor... but with a netbook you don't need to get an adaptor!
