| 875361 | 2010-04-12 10:57:00 | Yeah, there are a few members who regularly only post *discussion* threads on topics that wind people up. I guess when people see yet another one, they get cheesed off. Saying that, if you know that person irritates you then just block their posts or ignore their threads. Also, if things are getting nasty then don't forget to report the post so the Mods can take a looksie and intervene (or just monitor) if necessary. Our time is precious, so we don't have time to follow every thread on this forum and things can be brewing while we are happily unaware of any problems. :) Back in the wild west days this forum was a lot rougher with threads regularly going postal and the accompanying user(s) being chucked off the forum to cool down. Reporting posts seemingly does nothing these days. |

I just add them to the ignore list and don't even bother with the threads that they post. That's fine and you have changed a user name as others on the forum have and others have done the same including me. Then I had asked a Moderator to remove an infraction but the Moderator did not feel like doing so as the Moderator was too busy at that time and asked, "Why should I?" or words to that effect. My explanation had no effect anyway and I note it's still there whenever I try to delete this out of the PM database. So I can, and possibly will, create a new user account. Or not. Post counts don't really count anyway. |

| 875369 | 2010-04-12 20:15:00 | I enjoy Joe's posts. It is great to have his perspective on so many things and the little snippets of Americana he sends us. But then I like variety in my life. One does not have to open any-ones post and should not do so if you dont like what that person posts. We all have different tastes and views and while I dont agree with many posters comments I still keep an open mind and allow them the freedom of speech that our forefathers fought for at great personal expense. My old Mum used to say if you cant say anything good about a person, dont say anything at all. Lets remember that. Joes depth of knowledge, especially about automotive is incredibly wide and comes with age and experience, something that a few members here dont have. Lets just not write anything negative about anyone, it can be incedibly hurtful. Sunday night I start my retirement present to my self. I am flying out to Russia for up to a year.
