| 875264 | 2010-04-12 03:02:00 | As much as I hate Telecom for what they have done for NZ broadband, I think the media are kinda picking on them for headlines with XT. | Battleneter2 (9361) | ||
| 875265 | 2010-04-12 03:13:00 | Poor ickle telecon. Should have spent a few shekels improving their infrastructure, back when they had a functional monopoly. Instead of siphoning it all off to overseas investors and giant remuneration packages for the elite. Sympathy? Spare me.:D |

| 875266 | 2010-04-12 03:22:00 | TBH the only problem I've had with voicemail was not having enough money to get one. (I've only got 10c credit - too much internet usage :p) | pcuser42 (130) | ||

I don't know what the Herald is like but the DomPost has a sorry record of printing machine breakdowns that delay morning deliveries for hours. |

I know, it is like the kettle calling the pot block. Vodafone has also had outages , but they don't make the big headlines. It is the tall poppy syndrome, and the fact that reporting on telecoms problems, sells newspapers and makes people tune into the news. That particular problem with voice mail is only a tiny percentage, not 80%, and that figure was corrected by telecom, as that was an error that one of their staff made. It is just bad journalism that that wasn't pointed out in the headline and first paragraph of the story. |

Instead of siphoning it all off to overseas investors and giant remuneration packages for the elite. Sympathy? Spare me.:D It is a business, and is job is to mamke a profit for it's shareholders. It is no different to any of the electricity companies in NZ, who are doin gexactly the same thing. At least they didn't do what they did with the rail, by stripping it's assets running it into the ground, and selling it back to the government for a huge profit. |

The papers are trying to achieve balance and report a "Telecom did this well" story, but it just hasn't happened yet. |
