1148320 2010-10-28 06:47:00 Have always accepted all updates for the Vista platform I have used for over 2 x years.

The latest Windows Live Essentials upgrade is causing me hassles - -
There is a dialogue window continually advising that the 'Beta' program has stopped.

There was never any mention that the update was a 'beta' so tried to take it off the computer via system restore.

That resulted in me not being able to accept any further important upgrades?
Live Essentials still works but with this annoying notification of the incompatibility all the time.

Tried fixing the program via the 'delete/ repair' function and thought it has worked, but no, it is back with the same notification?

Don't know where to go from there - - -

Thanks

1148322 2010-10-28 06:52:00 Try removing it via Add/Remove Programs and do a fresh install .... I know that there was an update last week but I had no problems using XP SP3 SP8's (9836)

1148325 2010-10-28 07:02:00 Umm was a beta version installed before you updated it?? If there was, you should have uninstalled it first Speedy Gonzales (78)
1148326 2010-10-28 07:16:00 My version is 1.0.2498 and has all updates to yesterday. Been running MSE for about a year and it installed the latest version last week without a problem .... but from memory, had to reboot. SP8's (9836)
1148327 2010-10-28 07:17:00 Umm its Live essentials, not MSE. They're not the same thing Speedy Gonzales (78)
