| 1147854 | 2010-10-26 10:33:00 | Been having problems with firefox slowing waaaay down after a broswer has been left open for any extended period of time. Seems like my entire PC just grinds to a halt. I'm sure I've got all sorts of things going on with my registry that are causing this. Hope someone can help me out. Here's my HT log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 3:33:03 AM, on 10/26/2010 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.6001.18702) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\Program Files\Comcast\Desktop Doctor\bin\sprtsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\Comcast\Desktop Doctor\bin\sprtcmd.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\GoogleToolbarNo tifier.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugin-container.exe C:\New Folder\HijackThis.exe R0 - | 1147856 | 2010-10-26 11:03:00 | I would check CPU and RAM usage at the point when performance starts to degrade. I suspect firefox or something else is either using all the CPU time or is using too much RAM (and possibly using more as time goes on) Possibly a bad extension installed in Firefox? |

| 1147857 | 2010-10-26 19:36:00 | How much ram is on it?? You can tick these then tick fix checked Close browsers. Or use ccleaner and delete the startup entries I would use something better than realplayer O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot Wouldnt be surprised if its Google updater, or a FF addon. If its open at the time |

| 1147861 | 2010-10-27 11:17:00 | If it is firefox 3.6 then its probably plugin-container.exe (had it myself before) problem is that it uses a lot of the cpu. You can however disable it (use google). :pf1mobmini: |

| 1147862 | 2010-10-28 06:36:00 | I use a little program called Startup Control Panel www.mlin.net Very handy little applet, installs in your Control panel. Gives you tick box control. | PPp (9511) | ||
