875351 2010-04-12 00:16:00 Or are the threads here getting more and more aggressive?

I think that for once you should start a thread that isn't just you whinging about stuff for the sake of moaning.

What's up with that?
I'm sure we used to be a friendlier bunch (unless you got into some political debate), weren't we?

875352 2010-04-12 00:43:00 Its not just you :) Some of the threads start out OK, then turn sour so to speak.

Someones gonna say it so-- Maybe some need some more :wub:wub:wub:wub ing

875353 2010-04-12 01:12:00 Indeed - I think there's a handful of people on Chat (conspicuously absent when it comes to helping on PressF1) who seem to enjoy being inflammatory and provocative, and don't seem to understand the difference between arguing the point vs 'arguing the man'.

875354 2010-04-12 02:02:00 It is not the fault of the offenders.
Everything can be blamed on a vitamin deficiency (lack of Vegemite), and poor toilet training. A certain amount may be due to school holidays too.

875355 2010-04-12 02:13:00 I put it down to the drought Cato. Everyone's getting a bit edgy. Maybe it will all be right again when it rains. If it ever bloody well does! Grrrrr  Richard (739)
875356 2010-04-12 02:15:00 It's raining somewhere right now:D KarameaDave (15222)
875357 2010-04-12 02:17:00 Hasn't rained here since December. (I think ) Richard (739)
875358 2010-04-12 02:50:00 There is a small number of members who post things that start the agressive threads in the first place.

I just add them to the ignore list and don't even bother with the threads that they post.

875359 2010-04-12 07:35:00 Yeah, there are a few members who regularly only post *discussion* threads on topics that wind people up. I guess when people see yet another one, they get cheesed off.

Saying that, if you know that person irritates you then just block their posts or ignore their threads.

Also, if things are getting nasty then don't forget to report the post so the Mods can take a looksie and intervene (or just monitor) if necessary. Our time is precious, so we don't have time to follow every thread on this forum and things can be brewing while we are happily unaware of any problems. :)

Back in the wild west days this forum was a lot rougher with threads regularly going postal and the accompanying user(s) being chucked off the forum to cool down.
