1148993 2010-10-31 00:54:00 Want to replace broken LCD in Inspiron 1520-current is LP154W01 (TL)(F2)-bought used B154EW02 V1-same basic 1280x800. Inverter with used Lcd could not be used -different plugs and cable/cord would not fit to motherboard. Used existing invertor and screen works but is dull even with brightness fully up.
Suggests compatible issues -but even if I purchased new -vendor advises has compatible LCD-will /could I have the same issue? Practical solution is....

1148994 2010-10-31 09:05:00 Downloaded chipset driver for video from dell site and major improvement after some more tweaks using f2 set up for brightness and then display properties. Its not perfect but usable, cheers vavoom53 (16056)
1148995 2010-11-12 02:44:00 Just if you're interested, a different inverter is all that's required - and they're not expensive. Let me know if I can help. Configra (16000)
