1148712 2010-10-30 01:01:00 A Canadian friend asked if I could help her with a problem, below is from her email. The first thing that hit me was that "N" word, but before I reply I wanted to run it past the helpful people here and see if you have had any similar problems with your clients or have any other suggestions.
Cheers,
Marnie

"I used to use a little memory card reader to download my pics, just take the card out of camera, pop it into the reader & they automatically downloaded. When I got my new little FUJI camera, I installed the software on desktop, and had no problem whatsoever downloading the first group of pics I took. They're all there in a nice little file. So yesterday I took card out of camera, put it into the reader, hooked it up, and NOTHING. did not do a darn thing. So, then I put the card directly into computer, and had to open the disk or drive or some such nonsense, it took the pics, but now I've NO IDEA whatsoever where to find them. Every time I try to open the disk or the drive, it says to insert a memory card!!! Bite me!!!
On top of that, I now can't get into Pogo using Explorer any more, have to use Firefox, and also can't get into the company's on-line meeting site. The ONLY thing I've done different since last on-line meeting was to install Norton Anti-Virus 2011. the Norton guy "took over" my computer, wiped everything out ( insert sad face here), and there's nothing wrong. So, am now back to square one, which means "shoot and pray it works" in my lingo!"

1148714 2010-10-30 03:01:00 Norton is probably the most widely used virus protection. Some of us who are not running multinational corporations do not like it because it imposes hevy restraints on resources.
You have two separate issues here.

1148715 2010-10-30 03:16:00 To locate the Pictures ( depending on the OS) do a search for their names/numbers or date, or open the program, under its options should be the location it stores them.

Whats the OS ?

Seems a bit dangerous moving them directly from the card right away instead of copying them.

If the card wont read, depending again on how it was removed from the Computer it could be damaged, simply pulling them out with out using the Safe remove option, can cause damage.

Does the card read in the Camera. ????

As PENTIUM suggested -- its two different problems I would think.
