878711 2010-04-21 08:27:00 Hi Forrest44

Agree with earlier replies about Dick Smith's MP3 Player (www.dse.co.nz)

Great player, nice looking. Mum liked it so much, had to buy her one to prevent her stealing mine!!

- has decent battery life Yes
- doesn't cost too much About eighty Buck$
- has decent sound quality (ability to drive large headphones would be nice) Yes
- has an OK user interface Yes

Software on Cd sucks. Throw it away and download a free Video convertor.

878712 2010-04-21 08:37:00 countdown S & V mp4 players (its basicly mp3 player that will play movies) are good. they have the same user interface and DSE ones and their earfones are good. considering there cheap their batterys good, it has good bass (it all depends on how bass-y the song is) and overall i would reccomend it goodiesguy (15316)
878713 2010-04-21 08:43:00 Ipod Touch.

Amazing interactive and fun interface, games and apps and good sound quality.

Depends on how much you really want to spend but I found that my ipod was a very good investment after my previous DSE mp3 players.

878714 2010-04-21 08:50:00 What's a good music player that:

- has decent battery life
- doesn't cost too much
- has decent sound quality (ability to drive large headphones would be nice)
- has an OK user interface

?

My personal preference is for Creative (Zens have really good sound quality), but it's important to mention your earphones/buds - there's no point having a quality player if all that meaty goodness is lost in rubbish bundled phones!!

878717 2010-04-21 19:43:00 Creative Zen or Sony Walkman, since like a few of us you don't want an Ifruitpod which I can fully understand as like Jamuz I have an aversion to fruit as well gary67 (56)
878718 2010-04-24 02:41:00 Sony, got one for Xmas. Brilliant sound, 4GB so plenty of space. I use mine at work and play via a small FM transmitter to my radio earmuffs. This allows me to use earmuff volume controls. Batt life is fine, specs say 18 hours, recharge in around 60mins via USB.
Easy to load tunes. Hope this helps.

878719 2010-04-24 03:04:00 Creative Zen. I have the 4gb one, and it's playing music to me as I type, brilliant player. Id get the X-fi one if I was buying now. pine-o-cleen (2955)
