1148478 2010-10-28 21:39:00 I have a friend whose Dell PC came up with a BSOD apparently whilst downloading E-mail. I offered to help and did an F8 start and opted for safe mode. The process started but then BSOD. Turned off PC, rebooted F8 again, opted for Last good config. The process started but then BSOD again.

The error message was:
Stop: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0XBF803D26, 0XF8536e90, 0x00000000)

Win32k.sys - Address BF803D26 base at BF800000, Datestamp 4c7d06ce

All help much appreciated. KB.

1148479 2010-10-28 21:49:00 Get bluescreenview run it then load the BSOD/s. Tell us what files are highlighted, besides win32k.sys. What version of windows is it?

www.nirsoft.net Is that the only time it crashes?

1148482 2010-10-28 23:17:00 I must emphasize -we cannot start the PC to do anything, so can't respond to your advice. KB. kbcad (1025)
1148483 2010-10-28 23:18:00 Connect it to a working computer then. Then try it. And scan it while its connected. What version of windows is on it. If you cant do that, there's not much else you can do, besides reformatting it Speedy Gonzales (78)
