877620 2010-04-17 15:51:00 I bought a handycam from trademe, but has no software discs, but I want to use the firewire port with a prog I have.
So basically I'd need the typical firewire cable with a firewire end and a 5pin end lead.
I thought it shouldnt be too hard to find but havent seen one yet.
Anyone else seen them?

877621 2010-04-17 20:17:00 DSE have them
6pin to 4pin (www.dse.co.nz)
I have never seen a 5 pin before.

877622 2010-04-19 00:51:00 What version of Windows?? Does Windows detect it, and load a driver? Whats the brand / model of the cam? Speedy Gonzales (78)
877623 2010-04-19 01:49:00 No hassle support in XP/Vista. Win 7 can have a problem I believe, but here is a link that may be helpful.

877624 2010-04-19 01:57:00 Dont think the prob is with win7. Its finding the right connection / cable to connect it to the PC. Does the connection look like this ? (www.white-light.net) Speedy Gonzales (78)
877625 2010-04-19 02:35:00 That is USB Speedy!

877626 2010-04-19 02:38:00 Umm no its not its firewire. Its the same connection thats on my cam. It may say USB but it isnt. Thats probably a site. Its probably the 2nd pic rob wants. Maybe a 6 to 4 pin (which is what my cam uses). Or 4 to 4 pin, depending on what the connection looks like on the case Speedy Gonzales (78)
877627 2010-04-19 06:26:00 Whatever, Speedy...

877628 2010-04-19 07:03:00 That photo looks suspiciously like USB Mini-B to me...

Rob: What model of camera is it? Are you sure you aren't confusing USB and Firewire?
