2010-04-27 03:00:00 | www.nzherald.co.nz The bastards, its not right for them to say increase the price of turps when they have salaries over 100, 000 dollars. Some of these idiots on the commission probably got pissed as chooks when they were young now they want to spoil young peoples fun. I have been a staunch National voter since I was 18 because they were the party for business and farming I look with interest what law the Nats propose and whether the socialists vote against it. Seems when these politicians get old they forget what it was like when they were young. Also Broad is a Christian wouldnt trust him as far as I could kick him.

2010-04-27 03:13:00 | If you don't like it, go vote for your pinky lefty Labour mates at the next elections :) There are other alternative parties at the moment you know. In a democracy you can even start your own party and invite all like minded people to join.

2010-04-27 03:18:00 | While I'm not too worried if they increase the price of alcohol - I'm not a big drinker - I do believe that increasing the price is not what is needed. I have noticed that the people who drink a lot (and smoke) are quite often the people who can't afford it. At present they will sacrifice other things - clothes for the children for example - so they can buy grog. Putting up the price will not change that as the wife and kids will just have to do with even less. One idea I heard recently, is to charge, the drunk driver or wife beater, the cost of the police attending. At present, you and I pay for that. But, of course, these people will not have the money as they have spent it all on grog, so confiscating their car or TV might be a good start. It seems that present legislation is really aimed at results of their actions rather than treating the cause. Perhaps if the authorities were to look at how to prevent these losers getting drunk in the first place, they may be moving in the right direction.

2010-04-27 03:23:00 | There is nothing wrong with getting drunk its not a crime I get drunk all the time always have always will. I will never stop drinking until the day I die. The problem is pissed people doing silly things I am fine with increasing penalities for drunken behavior that causes a crime or accident. As they say piss in brains out but you would never do the dance of the flaming ********* in Singers sober.

This is less than we pay for bottled water," Sir Geoffrey said . WTF the price of water is horrendous, how can you compare that . What a cock head Like Goldstein says on the ASB ad, "the world really has changed!" EDIT: Hone key election promise "we will not tell new zealanders how to live their lives" (might not be quite correctly worded but close . ) |
