879677 2010-04-24 10:59:00 I need to get some screws for a project which are defined as "#2 self-tapping screws".

However Mitre 10 does not sell these, in fact everything is labeled with a G, eg: 4G, 6G, 8G etc.

I am guessing that I need 2G but they don't have anything smaller than 4G (which I can tell are a bit too big by looking at them)

Is this even correct? Does #2 = 2G?

And any ideas where to find them??

The people who actually make the case (Hammond Manufacturing) actually specify #4 screws!

Jaycar seems to sell these, and at the 6mm length required... hopefully that will solve all the problems.

879681 2010-04-25 05:05:00 G is the gauge as in 8 gauge 10 gauge etc. But superscrews although still labelled by gauge are not actually that gauge an 8 gauge superscrew has an 8G head but with a 7g shank and a 10g has an 8g shank with a 10g head gary67 (56)
