2010-11-03 07:40:00 | OMG! The 6series!! I'll have the 6970, or 6870x2 or whatever it will be. And I have no problems with drivers......... You have the 5970, calm down. :p

2010-11-03 08:09:00 | 6850/6870 = replacements for 5850/5870. Not true 6000's, they're coming soon still. But reading the reviews, it seems the 6800's are pretty brilliant for their price, and have really nice power consumption figures for their performance.

2010-11-03 19:15:00 | Try the GTX 480. The best by far. | JJJJJ (528) | |
2010-11-03 19:26:00 | bear in mid the 6 series is actually slower in tests so far than the 5 series with the 6870 performing at around the level of the 5850 I read though that they are very good cards for the price. That said the GTX 460 seems to be the card of choice in most reviews around the place. Myself I mostly refer to toms hardware monthly "best gaming cards for the price" articles but prices here are different so some research into price is required. www.tomshardware.com

2010-11-03 20:33:00 | In some cases they are. Tesselation and texture handling is improved, but is still beaten by the likes of the 470 and 480. But then, I like AMD. I don't personally have anything against Nvidia's cards (I have one in another pc)... but some of the fanboys constantly picking on AMD are beginning to put me off a bit. Like pctek, I don't have much trouble with the drivers. There's one issue that I did have but that was solvable by simply changing my renderer with no loss in quality whatsoever. Other than that, CCC has been fine.

2010-11-03 20:37:00 | I understand what your saying about fanboys. I brought the very best ATI card I could that dual GPU monster that I forget the name of. Nothing but problems from day one, worse graphics card I have ever owned and never again will I buy ATI.

2010-11-04 00:44:00 | The 5870 beats the GTX480 in single card performance and its cheaper, sure it has faster tesselation performance, but that only matters if you care about your 3dmarks, only one game supports tessalation at the moment (AFAIK) which is Metro 2033, I've tested it on my 5870, and it is playable with tessalation enabled. AMD has sub par drivers for crossfire, but the op asked about single card, AMD is simply better bang for your buck. the 6870 totally owns the GTX460 and its only $120 more.
