2010-04-26 23:33:00 | Mainly just the tech ones mentioned above, plus Boing Boing, Geekzone and Slashdot. Favourite is Engadget - new toys!!!! | johcar (6283) | |
2010-04-26 23:48:00 | Only if there is something of value in them. Obviously no one reads someone's blog who talks about what they did in their day. I follow a handful. The best way to keep up a blog readership is to have regular (at least a couple of times a week) useful posts

2010-04-27 00:11:00 | I don't really read them, I treat them like any webpages via a google search. But I don't stick to them. With people I personally know, it's like a diary. But overtime they gave up, it's been inactive over an year.

2010-04-27 05:28:00 | Aardvark (http://aardvark.co.nz/) has been going a little over 15 years. I still like it. Bruce was probably NZs first blogger, and probably the only one I read. Engadet isn't really a blog these days, it is now owned by a big multinational, but it is interesting to see some of the stuff they have on it. If you have a blog, 99.9% of bloggers don't really make any money from it. Bloggers who do try to make money from it, will try to post stories that the mass market will search for, such as the iphone 4 g. If you manage to get hold of a prototype, you will get huge numbers to your blog.

Bloggers who do try to make money from it, Yes Its like everything on the internet, those who get in first probably do well, then everyone else gets the buzz and tried to cash in. But they can't all make money. There is a whole industry pushing ads and affiliates to blog sites. (they will have to fail after they have sucked in many millions to start a blog.) |
