BUT - as per the site Billy linked there are MANY items if you may want to consider:

Q: What sort of items in my home or office might be contributing to ElectroSmog?

A: The first and most obvious group of EMR producers in your home are those that are plugged into wall outlets . While these include all common household or office appliances, the most important ones are televisions, microwaves, computers, wireless networking equipment, wireless printers or any other powered device that communicates through radio-frequency signals, cordless phones, wireless baby monitors (but not the plug-in type that communicate through your power wiring) electronic washing machines, cellphones, remote garage door openers, or wireless intercoms .

In your office, most of the list above applies, but you should also include fax machines, photocopiers, UPSs (uninterruptible power supplies) and any other electrically powered item .

Added: Better take the electric blank of if you have one:
A: MummyWraps with Swiss Shield will provide effective protection against electric fields, but are not fully effective against low frequency magnetic fields from electric blankets .
We recommend that you use the blanket to preheat your bed, and then switch it off before you retire .

879315 2010-04-24 07:03:00 Other hazards you need to beware of then, are Listeriosis, from certain foods (eg some cheezes), and toxoplasmosis from cats, particularly kittens.

Toxo can cause serious damage to an unborn child, and is very, very common. For adults it is typically a mild ("sub-clinical") infection. About 25% of kiwis when tested show evidence of exposure to toxo. It's common among gardeners, as the organism is passed from the cats gut into the soil, or the kitty litter - wherever they poo, then any human with a cut in their skin gets infected when handling the soil / litter.

Seriously, if you have a cat in the neighbourhood, your lady should keep her mits away from it, and out of the garden. Miscarriage, deformity, blindness, brain damage can result to the foetus if mum gets infected while carrying the baby.

Likewise, she should avoid all alcohol, solvents (nail polish & remover), and stay well clear of anyone with colds or flu - there's a growing pile of evidence that flu want sap an unborns potential.

And at the conclusion of all your efforts, the greatest hazard of all to the child is the path down the birth canal. Best of luck!

879317 2010-04-24 20:33:00 The site is called Mummywraps . com (Mummywraps . com) and is still up and running . They have a range of products suitable for pregnant women and the garments will effectively minimise EMR radiation exposure .

The material is made in Switzerland and during one of the tests I carried out for the importer, a cellphone enclosed in the material was unable to send or receive so the shielding was very effective .
Thanks Billy - I forgot that it was a . com address . So yeah, if the poster still has concerns, the mummywraps should put his and her mind at ease .

But as I and others have commented, investing in an LCD monitor could be more beneficial .

879318 2010-04-25 07:33:00 But as I and others have commented, investing in an LCD monitor could be more beneficial .

But LCD monitors still radiate VLF electric and magnetic fields from the display matrixing . Fortunately that is a relatively short-range effect and personally I'd be much more concerned about cellular radiation, which MW will minimise .

There is no product that can protect against ELF magnetic fields such as those fromn mains power wiring etc, but fortunately you can usually see those sources, which are power lines, transformers, pylons etc .

Cheers
