2010-11-08 04:54:00 | My daughter is trying to forward some emails to me and they were not appearing in Mailwasher (no, they have not gone to junk mail) so I've sent some test emails from my Gmail account to my private and business addresses and both failed to arrive. I have cross-checked by cross-sending between my business (Orcon) and private (Xtra) accounts and they pop up in Mailwasher within a couple of minutes. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2010-11-08 05:26:00 | Working fine. Is your daughter at home using your network or is she elsewhere on another connection.

2010-11-08 05:48:00 | No. How strange! Nothing is coming through in either direction and there is nothing in junk mail either. So, on reflection, Gmail to Gmail is the only option I haven't tried yet so I'll give that a go. Cheers Billy 8-{) :badpc:

2010-11-08 07:15:00 | Working fine. Is your daughter at home using your network or is she elsewhere on another connection. She is using the same outgoing connection via a D-Link DES-1008D switch and a D-Link 504G Router. Nothing has (intentionally) changed here in any way, and my normal email accounts are working fine, but neither she nor I can send or receive Gmail. That only leaves my son to check and he's not here until late this evening. I rarely use Gmail myself, but they use it exclusively now for their email instead of everything passing through my Xtra account. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2010-11-08 07:41:00 | Dont know if its related, but currently telstra email is down. Has been for the last few hours ( since about 5 ish) - when calling telstra, they wont even put you in the Que to wait, due to overloading. | wainuitech (129) | |
2010-11-08 07:43:00 | OK, I've got my own accounts going, but that turned out to be simple because I realised that since I don't usually send emails to myself, I hadn't set them up properly in Mailwasher since I got my new computer so they had automatically gone to the recycle bin. Unfortunately, said recycle bin did not contain my daughter's emails to me. I'll start again from the beginning on hers and see what I can find this time around. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2010-11-08 08:26:00 | Have you got mailwasher set up with something in the blacklist. I have a number if items on my blacklist but all are regular spam (just rechecked) and in any event, I never set auto-delete for anything as I don't get that much spam that I can't deal with each item individually. The silly thing is that the system has been running fine for months on this new computer, and family emails have been transferred to me regularly, but now they don't appear at all in any repositery, but they are not on any black lists etc, they just vanish into the ether. Daughter is unwell so we'll try again in the morning, there's nothing like a fresh boot for clearing random glitches. Watch this space.............. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2010-11-08 21:12:00 | I know the telecom website is down, well the telecom.co.nz part is just a blank screen, and if your daughter is using pop3 to send their gmail or receive, it could just be a muck up there and nothing really to do with gmail itself. Hope this makes sense, I know what I mean, but don't think I am explaining well. | supergran (108) | |
