| 1150726 | 2010-11-06 05:05:00 | Appologies for the basic question :( What are people using for unzipping things in Windows 7? I struck a problem this afternoon (someone with a Mac sent me a zipped file) and my 'puter threw a hissy fit. I've downloaded Winzip - but see it is only a trial version... Not what I need long term. :( As always - thanks for your help to keep me sane (or relatively so). Many would debate this! :) |

| 1150730 | 2010-11-06 06:01:00 | 7-zip is a great application. Everything you need to do can be done through the right-click menu | Greven (91) | ||
| 1150731 | 2010-11-06 06:04:00 | Just to be completely different :p I use Izarc (www.filehippo.com) it has a similar interface as Winzip, so many people are familiar with its use - tried 7zip, didn't like it, :groan: esp after it decided to cause hell (lockups) on one of my Windows 7 Workshop computers, was fine before it was installed, and worked Ok again after it was removed.. If you want a Comparison (news.softpedia.com). |

| 1150732 | 2010-11-06 07:01:00 | You should be able to extract (and compress) zip files natively in Win7, Vista and XP, windows.microsoft.com perhaps there's a problem with the Mac file (corrupted? incompatible file system/type?). Otherwise, :thumbs: for Izarc. |
