A 120-mph chase through San Bernardino and Colton ended last night in the arrest of a motorcyclist riding a stolen 2006 Honda, according to San Bernardino County sheriff's officials . "The driver of the motorcycle drove at speeds exceeding 120 mph . . . and ran through stop signs and red lights," according to the statement . "After approximately six minutes, the pursuit ended when the driver went northbound on Rancho Avenue in Colton where he and the passenger attempted to flee on foot . " A sheriff's helicopter crew helped deputies apprehend two suspects . Arrested for possession of stolen property, evading police and parole violation was 32-year-old Sunshine Bishop of Riverside . The female passenger was interviewed and released . The motorcycle had been reported stolen from the 400 block of Prospect Street in Riverside . |

That's not crazy - that's normal for the autobahn! When I was travelling in and around Germany a few years ago, I was driving a Peugeot 307 HDi (1600cc) at 190km/h on the autobahn and getting passed by Mercs, BMWs, Ferraris etc. at far greater speeds than me, passing me like I was parked. Scary getting into the passing lane, though - no sooner than you do, you have to check the rear vision mirror and get out of the way of the rapidly-approaching-from-the-rear cars real FAST! But the autobahns are designed for it, so the speed is not an issue - and everyone knows how to drive properly, too. Which makes a huge difference. |
