880955 2010-04-30 05:25:00 Dont know what was done, but ever since the "shutdown" last night - I have found the site loads a lot quicker - even if it is back on the "old system" -- Maybe it needed a good "scare" wainuitech (129)

880957 2010-04-30 06:58:00 Here's a question for the PCW techs who have made themselves available here:

In this (forums.pcworld.co.nz) thread, I have linked to an image at this address:

www.imagef1.net.nz (www.imagef1.net.nz)

(Clicking the link above will redirect to the wrong image - you need to c/p the link into the address bar to get to the correct image...)

But when the link is clicked the user is directed to an earlier screenshot that I uploaded and then found to have been saved in greyscale, here:

www.imagef1.net.nz

Since this occurred last night after the 'upgrade' I am suspicious this may be the cause - can someone please look at this issue? Is some sort of cache not being refreshed?

Replied to your pm but posting here so everyone knows what's what.

ImageF1 appears to be fine. Loading the file from my hard drive it shows in colour and the same when hard linked to it here (www.imagef1.net.nz)

I don't know alot about the sites structure because it was DannNZ who built it so if theres anymore questions your probaly better off PM'ing him.

I don't know why any PressF1 changes would cause this though. Maybe admin can help here?

Cheers

CheersI think John's link did that before the server outage because I can see the hidden coding is incorrect. Basically you have named the link as www.imagef1.net.nz/files/29-04-2010_11-22-54_p.m..png, but you have given it the URL of www.imagef1.net.nz That is why the scared_sites.jpg loads instead.

I have copied your actual URL coding in your post below so you can see what I mean:

www.imagef1.net.nz (www.imagef1.net.nz)

880960 2010-04-30 07:41:00 So it didn't update the link when I refreshed the preview of the message before I posted it. Sounds like a caching issue to me.

Or maybe a PEBKAC - but I learn more towards a hardware than a "software" issue. :D

That worked OK. I previewed the post with one link, changed it and then posted. It must be you. :D
