1150836 2010-11-08 21:41:00 Some routers will allow filtering on MAC addresses. If yours allows it use the filter so only the computers you want on the net are allowed to use it.

Solves a lot of problems.

Nah, its to easy for hackers to spoof mac adresses

**IMPORTANT**
disable administration via Wlan/wifi
change the router administrator pass
disable router admin access via internet

1150837 2010-11-08 21:52:00 assign static ip's aswell. Mac filtering, ip filtering, static ip's and disabling dhcp can all help. 8ftmetalhaed (14526)

1150841 2010-11-11 07:06:00 Is it possible to disable admin over wifi on the thompson routers? They don't appear to have a lot of settings

Do you tell your neighbour the router admin password? There is no need for them to know that - only your wireless PSK

1150844 2010-11-13 08:56:00 Are you connecting Via wireless or Ethernet cable ?

If you are connecting Via a cable - disable the Wireless your self so its not transmitting (to bad about the Neighbors) then see if it still disconnects at the same time.

1150845 2010-11-13 09:48:00 probably a dumb question, But don't most wireless routers only allow computers directly hard wired to them access to the admin settings.
And change the damn password on the router and the key thingie(and also check there isn't a default? user setup)
and change and hide your ssid

My linksys could access set up via wireless.
