Given the choice of a Steam purchase or physical disc, I would choose the disc any day (even if it was more expensive) But ONLY if the disc did not require Steam (which unfortunately does not seem to be true) The only game I know of where this is not the case is Trackmania United Forever (although I had to order the game from the UK because the DVD version in stores here requires Steam) No matter what medium you buy Half-Life 2 on, you still must install Steam. I do not want Steam, I just want the game and nothing more. I do not need some stupid program clogging up my memory and hard drive and which provides me with absolutely no benefit, but a lot of annoyance instead. Piracy solves all these problems, and is even cheaper ;) True it's nice to have the real thing, thats why I don't buy music off iTunes. |
