1152225 2010-11-12 05:55:00 My 120GB deskstar IDE harddrive will make a ticking Noise, then my pc will lock up, and i have to restart.

Does this mean my hard drive is dieing?

Get the data backed up NOW if its not already been done. Sooner than later it will simply stop working.

1152228 2010-11-12 06:11:00 I have the Data All backed up.

Its weird, as the 120gb hard drive thats dieing is from an oldish external hard drive that was given to me.

Is their any free software that can make an "image" of my hard drive which i can then put onto another?

Or do i have to reinstall windows on a new hard drive?
