Just a question for you wise geeks regarding my friend's eeePc. I've been trying now for a few days to make more space on the eeePc HD, to no avail. Trying to reinstall XP, it does not want to do anything (perhaps due to a lack of HD space)? I thought, with XP being so big, I should install Linux on this machine, and get OpenOffice for her Word app's - and then the question of "not enough HD space" will hopefully be over. What is the latest Linux kernel that resembles XP (the last one I knew was Ubuntu V10 I think).

My Eee 701 has a 4GB SSD and takes XP just fine, as well as Office 2007. |
