883080 2010-05-08 02:58:00 Yeah - me too, all too well etched into my gray cells.

I honestly thought v11 was pretty nice - it let me drag and drop album covers into those silly default album icons when the network could not find the music I had downloaded. V9 won't let that happen.

The eye candy in v11 is nice, but somehow the wheels fall off when you get to 13,000-14,000 MP3 files and it all goes kaflooey!

I see that there's a few codecs on the referred-to past posting when it fell apart last time. Do you think it's safe to get the v7,8,9,10 codecs now too?

883081 2010-05-08 03:48:00 Just as a matter of interest is your XP 32 bit or 64 bit?

I ask because currently I run Win 7 Pro 64 bit and that comes with WMP12 installed.
I downloaded WMP10 and uninstalled WMP12 and then rebooted. Tried to install WMP10 and it gave an error that said can only be installed on Win XP ( 32 bit ).

Truth be known I'm quite happy with WMP12 but I don't need all the album art.

If you want I can upload WMP10.exe to a local server here along with the latest Klite codecs and PM you a direct link.

Well maybe you have.

But Surfer wants WMP10 for some reason.

What does the second to last sentence in post #9 say?

In post #1 it's WMP11 that won't hold all the files.

Clarifying here:::

v11 got all goofy-footed* when it got to a certain limit . I dunnow why - it just did .

v9 ran OK but is lame-o I feel and not user friendly . IOW- it generally sux .

I got v10 right now and it seems to be happy with the large files . I had it before and got it again (thanks to the heads-up where to get it - you know who you are!) .

Liquid Player6 was a bad idea as it repeatedly crashed my XP-P/SP99 or whatever the SPs are at now .

I can't lose the MP3s any more - well, not from stupidity of mine by trying 'new things' on this Media unit . I have them all backed up in three great hidey-hole places from now on .

NO - I AM NOT GONNA TRY A DUAL-BOOT WITH L AGAIN . NEVER!!! Hear me?!?

* goofy-footed = left foot forward on a surfboard .
